MICHAEL platform documentation
2005-04-04 / 2005-05-22
The MICHAEL platform provides functionalities for creating and maintaining a Web site about digital cultural heritage. The MICHAEL platform and its documentation can be used by various groups of people:
- Final users will be using the publishing tools to search and discover contents.
- The editors are responsible for creating and maintaining contents in a Web site manager with the MICHAEL platform.
- Implementers will be responsible for installing, configuring and adapting the platform for a specific usage or site.
- Developers will contribute to the evolution of the platform itself.
This documentation is thus divided into four distinct guides : User's guide, Editor's Guide, Implementer's Guide and Developer's Guide. Some are of course more technical than others.
The MICHAEL platform documentation is not complete yet, but here is an overview of what is available in English, with links to the relevant parts.
- User's Guide
- This guide contains general informations on the usage of a public Web site built with the MICHAEL platform. The search functions are described there. This guide is not available in English yet.

- Implementer's Guide
- This guide provides information for installing, configuring and adapting a MICHAEL platform of specific needs and usages.
- Developer's Guide
- This guide is for contributors to the platform. It is not available in English yet.
